Mild, muggy and midgy

I've now shifted three and a half metres of compost – most of two heaps from here, and one from below this patch

to here
a bulging metre cuboid.

I left a bit at the top end of the cleared space

because I discovered it was someone's home.

No, I did not transmogrify my husband in a fit of witchiness ;)


While I was shovelling compost, Green-Veined White butterflies were making the most of the pyramidal bugle flowers, which are at their best just now.


The old, old apple tree was looking good in the May meadow
