Bowling towpath

Toad and I went for a bike ride along the canal towpath from Bowling Harbour eastwards. It was a lovely morning for it.

We saw two swan nests in use including this one...

...and what looked at first sight rather like a sheep's fleece but which
turned out to be 'rush fluff' from canalside bulrushes.

Underneath the Erskine Bridge

On the way back I spotted a bluebell patch that included pink and white varieties.
It was a pity some Heineken-drinking slob had chucked their empty bottle in among them.
How about a push to try and make this kind of Heineken drinker more environmentally conscious, eh, HeinekenUK?

Back at the harbour we refreshed ourselves with Marathon bars wrongly labelled 😉
and tootled around looking at stuff like
ivy-leaved toadflax on the sea wall and arty bins.

There is a bike hire place at the harbour. Must find out if they hire out kids' bikes
because a ride and picnic along the towpath would be a fun thing to do with the grandsons.
